Server
In addition to various server services such as email, WWW, print or backup, the SCI with the Login Server Clusters offers users the possibility to log in and work directly on computers.
In contrast to simple workstation computers the SCI servers are centrally operated and managed and the access takes place via approx. 80terminals (in Building 48, Building 32 and Building 36) or via the Internet.
This enables better utilization and maintenance of the equipment, on which after all almost 1500 user accounts exist Furthermore, it is possible to work on the computers independent of location, i.e. it does not matter from which terminal you log in.
There are currently two groups of login servers, each with different systems:
