Informatik-Mailaccounts auf dem CGPro-Mailsystem
These are in particular all student accounts of the SCI that were set up from the summer semester 2010.

Access data
The first-time access data correspond to the details (user ID, password) from your SCI account application.Please change the password via the Webmail interface! There you can also set up a absence note and forwardings.

Email programs
The easiest way to receive or send emails is to use the WebMail-Interface, which you can use directly with any web browser.(Thunderbird is installed on the SCI servers. On own computers it can be downloaded here for Windows/Linux/MacOS free of charge. To receive and send emails, please refer to the Linux servers, the following tools are also available.

Set up a Thunderbird-3 email account for the CG-Pro-Server
(as of April 2010)
With the current version of Thunderbird unfortunately some settings are required to set up access to an email account on the CGPro system.
After the first start of Thunderbird (or after calling the menu item Edit>Account Settings>Account Actions>Add Email Account Add Email Account) the following dialog appears:
Enter the following data:
Your name | Specify the name to be displayed when sending your emails. |
---|---|
E-mail address | Your complete e-mail address (including "@informatik.uni-kl.de") |
Password | The password of the email account (originally the password of your account application at SCI) |
Remember password | Remember password means that when you start Thunderbird, you will no longer be asked for the password when you pick up your email (but you should then set a master password for security reasons). |
You should now see the following window, in which some changes are necessary:
1. | The account name (e.g. p_muster) must be added to p_muster@informatik.uni-kl.de |

2. | Inbox server must be changed to mail.uni-kl.de |
3. | Outgoing mail server must be changed to smtp.uni-kl.de |
4. | The value in this box must be 993. |
5. | Now press the button Retest configuration |
Your window should now look like this. Please check your information.
With the button Create account, your data will be transferred.
